Police have laid charges against the man in his 30s who allegedly hacked a Year 10 student to death in Naria, Rakiraki, on Wednesday afternoon.
Police spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the man is charged with one count of Murder and one count of Act with Intent to Cause Grievous Bodily Harm.
He is expected to appear in court later today.
The female student passed away on Wednesday while her father who was also stabbed by the same man remains hospitalised.
The incident occurred when the student got off the school bus.
