The first group of workers sent to New Zealand under the Recognised Seasonal Employer Work Scheme has arrived in the country this afternoon.

These 31 workers were employed by Pick Hawkes Bay Incorporated in February for a duration of 7 months.

They were officially welcomed by the Ministry of Employment, Productivity & Industrial Relations.

The Ministry said that Fiji’s participation in this Scheme is through a pilot program, where these workers were sent for employment with NZ Recognised Seasonal Employers.

According to the Ministry the orientation for these workers will be on Monday.
