The body of the 23-year-old who went missing while swimming in the Dreketi River in Saweni Lautoka has been recovered.

Police have confirmed that the victim's body was recovered in the last hour by divers.

The man was swimming at around 6pm Tuesday evening when he dived into the river and failed to surface.

Police say that a post-mortem will be conducted soon.
