A High Court judge who sentenced a man who mowed down worshippers outside a mosque commended the imam for protecting him and allowing the law to take its course.
48-year-old Darren Osborne was jailed for at least 43 years after killing 51 year old Makram Ali, and injuring 12 others during the terror attack on June 19th last year.
Mohammed Mahmoud, the imam of the Muslim Welfare House in Finsbury Park, protected Osborne in the immediate aftermath of the attack from the angry crowd.
