Residents of Togo Lavusa and parts of Navo in Nadi have finally received water in the last hour after water supply did not normalise as expected in their area at 5pm yesterday.

Earlier today residents in parts of Navo in Nadi have told Fijivillage that water supply in their area also did not normalise, however residents in other parts of Navo have also confirmed that water trucks are slowly visiting different areas in Navo.

Residents also confirm that some students did not attend school today because of this issue.

The Water Authority of Fiji says the restoration of water supply after the completion of repair works at the Nagado Treatment Plant has been affected by three major pipe bursts leaving thousands of residents in Nadi without water this morning.

They confirm that works on these pipe bursts have been completed and water supply should normalise by tomorrow.

The Authority says areas that are located at the end of the reticulation system and some isolated higher elevated areas will still experience low water pressure till tomorrow.

Areas affected and the authority continues to work to get carting trucks to include Nagado, Nadele, Holika, Votualevu, Taci, Togomasi, Solovi, Meiganiyah and Malolo to Fiji Marriot Momi Bay Resort.

The Water Authority of Fiji stresses that this disruption is not related to the shutdown that happened over the weekend but is a result of major pipe burst that has happened due to aging infrastructure.
