The 2018 Nasinu 7s champion Wardens and the 2018 Coral Coast 7s and Nawaka 7s champion Police have registered their teams for the upcoming Martintar 7s Tournament in Nadi next weekend.

Laced with national sevens training squad members and former national 7s rep, the two champion teams are the favorites to reach the finals at this year’s Martintar 7s tournament.

The Wardens team have won the Martintar 7s from 2016 and 2017 and will be aiming to defend their title again this year.

The two teams met in the Martintar 7s final last year and the Police team is looking forward to win their first Martintar 7s title.

However, other big teams that have registered so far are Yamacia and Mala Young boys with giant-killers Ratu Filise.

Thirty-two men’s team will be gunning to win the $8,400 prize monies at stake in the Cup competition.

The winner will walk away with $5,000 and the runner-up will settle for $2000 while $1,400 will be shared between the losing cup semifinalist.

The Martintar 7s will be held next Friday (16th Mar 18) and Saturday (17th March 2018) at the Prince Charles Park, Nadi.
