Marist Brothers High School and Ratu Latianara Secondary School are currently leading the Boys and Girls medal tally of the Suva Zone 2 after the 3,000 metres run yesterday afternoon.
Suva Zone 2 meet Secretary Asish Vinay Prasad says they are expecting tough competition from smaller schools this year which will heavily influence the winner this afternoon.
Prasad believes defending girls champion Saint Joseph’s Secondary School have been working with coach Bola Tafou and are expected to take their performance to another level.
The Suva Zone 2 parade will start this hour while the 1,500 metres event will start at 8.45am.
The final event which is the 4x400m relay is expected to be held at around 3.30 this afternoon.
Saint Joseph’s Secondary and Marist Brothers High School are the defending champions.
