Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama says he is shocked to see that students are using human rights as an excuse for their indiscipline and bad behavior towards teachers.

Bainimarama highlighted this at the official handing over of the land lease title to the Ratu Kadavulevu School Old Boys Association.

Bainimarama says he cannot imagine that any of the parents nowadays did this during their school days.

The Prime Minister had earlier highlighted that a group of parents visited him and expressed their concerns about students allegedly swearing at the wife of the Ratu Kadavulevu School Principal.

He stated that the Principal’s wife had allegedly come across a group of RKS students writing on a wall in the school premises and told them not to do so.

Bainimarama says the Principal was then alerted and investigated the issue.

He says the Principal then allegedly hit the students.

Bainimarama says the case is in Police hands and he feels for the RKS Principal as he only wanted to teach these students a lesson.

Acting Chief Intelligence and Operations ACP Vakacegu Toduadua has confirmed to Fijivillage that no charges have been laid on the Principal.

Meanwhile Prime Minister Bainimarama and Minister for Lands, Faiyaz Koya also handed over a 99 year land lease title to the RKS Old Boys Association that will develop a $50m-$75m building under the Golden Heron Project.
Lodoni Trust Chairman, Isikeli Tuituku says the building at Herbert Place, off Knolly Street will have apartments and business spaces.
