Fiji Airways Men's National 7s team coach Gareth Baber says one of the basic areas he needed to address when he came in as coach of Fiji, was how to tackle right.

While speaking on the Straight Talk talkback show on our sister station Viti FM, Baber says in the first few tournaments they had issues with the number of penalties for high tackles, yellow cards and potentially red cards.

Baber says it was not that the players were being overly aggressive or they were looking to hurt somebody, it was just that they were getting the tackles wrong.

He says they were also missing a lot of tackles.

Baber says he recently had a defence coach to work with them and they discussed defence quite often.

He says that for them as coaches, changing the way that somebody defends is a habit.

Baber is expected to name his team for the Hong Kong 7s this Thursday.
