A big defensive effort from the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team has secured them a spot in the Hong Kong 7s semi-final after thrashing Argentina 40-14 this afternoon.
The national side scored six tries to outclass the Argentinians.
Fiji’s tries were scored by Samisoni Viriviri, Semi Kunatani, Vatemo Ravouvou, Jerry Tuwai, Amenoni Nasilasila and Alasio Naduva as they were leading 19-0 at halftime.
Meanwhile, Fiji received two yellow cards with captain Jerry Tuwai sin-binned for a deliberate knock-on while Isake Katonibau was sent out in the last minute for a foul play on an Argentinian player.
Fiji will now meet South Africa in the semifinal at 7.41 tonight.
The final will be held at 11 tonight.
