The Fijiana 7s team will meet Russia in the 5th place playoff of the Kitakyushu 7s in Japan which is part of the World Rugby Women’s 7s series.
Fiji went through to the 5th place playoff after beating China 24-19 this afternoon.The 5th place playoff match will kick off at 7.42 tonight.
Earlier, the Fijiana 7s team lost 31-7 to Australia in Cup quarterfinals.
Fiji’s only try in the match was scored by Viniana Riwai.She found space and despite a determined chase from the Australian defenders touched down to score.
Ill-discipline cost Fiji the match, first giving away a penalty for a high tackle and then for a deliberate knock on for which Pricilla Siata got a yellow card.
