High Court Judge Justice Thushara Rajasinghe will tomorrow sum up the case of a 23-year-old man charged with the rape of his 15-year-old nephew.
It is alleged that the man raped his nephew on the 1st of January this year in Nasinu after a party at the 15-year-old boy’s grandparents home.
State lawyer Lavenia Bogitini while making closing submissions stated that the man raped his nephew and then threatened him not to tell anyone.
Defence lawyer, Swarvana Prakash has stated in her closing submissions that there is always two sides of the story and that the teenager is mistaken with the identity of the perpetrator.
She further said that the alleged incident happened in a room while the lights were off and that the boy didn’t see the perpetrator for a long period of time.
