Spanish midfielder David Silva believes that facing Russia in the round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup will be just as difficult as coming up against Brazil.

Spain will play the hosts at 2am tomorrow after winning their group, but thanks to results elsewhere in the tournament they find themselves in the "easy" half of the draw.

However, Silva does not think their path through the tournament is any less difficult.

Spain have received some criticism for their performances at the tournament so far, as while they won Group A, they rarely played at their best and only won one game, a 1‑nil victory over Iran.

But Silva said the squad are trying not to pay attention to such talk.

Meanwhile France and Uruguay will face off in the first FIFA World Cup quarterfinal at 2am this Saturday.

France defeated Argentina 4-3 while Uruguay beat Portugal 2-1 this morning.

French youngster 19-year-old Kylian Mbappe was the hero of this match after netting two goals for his side.

Other goals for France were scored through Antoine Griezmann and Benjamin Pavard.

Argentina’s first goal was scored through Angel Di Maria, Gabriel Mercado and Sergio Aguero.

Meanwhile Uruguay’s two goals came from star striker Edinson Cavani while Pepe scored for Portugal.

Tomorrow, Spain will face Russia at 2am while Croatia will face Denmark at 6am.

On Tuesday, Brazil will take on Mexico at 2am while Belgium will face Japan at 6pm.

On Wednesday, Sweden will take on Switzerland at 2am while Colombia will face England at 6am.
