A man who has four criminal files and is charged with multiple counts of rape has been further remanded by Judge Justice Daniel Goundar.
The 61-year-old man is alleged to have raped and sexually assaulted four of his granddaughters, two aged 10, while the other two are aged 8 and 11.
In the first file the man is charged with two counts of rape, and a count each of indecently insulting any person and indecent assault.
In the second file the man is charged with one count of rape and two counts of sexual assault and in the third file he is charged with three counts of rape and one count of indecent assault.
While in the fourth file the man is charged with two counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault.
The alleged incident occurred between 2015 and 2017 in Kadavu.
State lawyer Kimberley Semisi has informed the court that she has sent back the victims statements to Kadavu to be translated to the English Language as it was recorded in the itaukei language.
The case has been adjourned to 14th August for plea.
