Fiji is ready to host a successful Asian Development Bank meeting which will attract over 4,000 visitors from the Asian region including more that 300 media personnel.

This was highlighted by Permanent Secretary for Civil Service, Bernadette Welch at the signing of an agreement with Marriott Group of Hotels Fiji to host the 52nd Asian Development Bank Board of Governors Meeting to be held from May 2nd to 5th, 2019.

She says preparations are well underway to host the high level meeting involving 62 countries adding that government will continue to work towards hosting a successful meeting in May next year and the Marriott Hotels has always worked with them over the years for regional and international events.

Fiji becomes the first Pacific island nation to host such a conference.

The annual meeting will be attended by Finance Ministers, Central Bank Governors, private sector representatives, development partners, academics, members of civil society groups, media, and the youth from the Asia and Pacific region.
