“I want to continue my mother’s legacy.”

Those were the words of Koto Matemosi the daughter of the late Makereta Matemosi the artisan behind the innovation of the Fiji Airways logo.

Koto was part of the 30 youths who completed their workshop on “Start and Improve your Business” training.

The 30-year-old from Namuka says that she had to leave her studies to continue her mother’s business which is now their main source of income for the family.

The training that was conducted by the Ministry for Youth and Sports will help enhance the knowledge and skills of starting and managing businesses for youths around the country.

Koto along with her four siblings are working together in running the “Matemosi Masi Artisian” business.

She says that there has been a high demand from hotels and other companies who request for new logos and other designs.

Meanwhile Minister for Youth and Sports Laisenia Tuitubou says that this training is for the Eastern Division Youths and is an important aspect of the Ministry in reaching out to the grassroot levels and monitor their business progress.

The participants received their certificate where they can start and improve their own businesses.
