19‑year‑old Deepak Kumar who is charged with one count of murder has been granted bail by High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar this morning.
Kumar is alleged to have driven his vehicle in a reckless manner which claimed the life of a 7‑year‑old girl on the 21st of last month.
He allegedly hit the victim who was crossing the road with an adult and another child.
The accident occurred at the junction of Foster Road and Tamavua-i-Wai after 8pm.
The man reported the matter at the Delainavesi Police Post.
Kumar will take his plea on the 21st of next month.
