After a thorough discussion and re-assessment of the rent that the tenants at Epworth House are now paying, the Methodist Church has agreed to double the amount of rent.

This was revealed by Lako Yani Management Limited General Manager Sereana Qoro at the Methodist Church Conference at Centenary Church in Suva.

Qoro says that they have reassessed the rent and some businesses have already signed the new rent agreement.

She also says that some businesses have also highlighted to Lako Yani Management Limited they were aware that they were not paying market rates.

Qoro also highlighted that some tenants are not agreeing to pay the new rent, however Lako Yani Management has made it clear to these tenants that this is Suva and if they disagree with the new rent then they can leave to set up their business elsewhere.

She adds that they are continuing with the plan to expand Epworth House.

Qoro says that they are also re-assessing the rent at the Reverend John Hunt House which houses the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption.
