More help is underway for victims of violence as the Ministry for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation and the Soroptimist International South West Pacific delegation signed a MOU.
Permanent Sectary for Ministry for Women and Children, Dr Josefa Koroivueta thanked the President of the Soroptimist International South West Pacific, Dato' Anusha for their initiative to build shelters for women and children who are victims of violence.
Koroivueta says that the initiative will provide a safe haven for those affected by violence.
President of the Soroptimist International South West Pacific, Dato' Anusha says the organisation is hoping to set up three centres worth $200,000 each which will cater for 8 people in terms accommodation, meals and other services like counselling.
The shelters are expected to be in operation by next year.
