The Vodafone Hibiscus Charity Chest raised $53,855 during this year’s Hibiscus Festival.

This has been confirmed by Hibiscus Committee Chairperson, Hirdesh Prasad adding that the sponsors will determine which projects will be undertaken this year.

Prasad says that a meeting will be held at the end of this month with the sponsors, the Suva City Council, Vodafone Fiji and the Suva Retailers Association to discuss various projects and how to best utilise the money collected.

He says the Hibiscus Charity Chest also supports various charitable organisations. 

Some of the recipients include Hilton Special School, Viti Spinal Injuries Association, St. Christopher's Home and Fiji Society of the Blind.

Miss Sinopec sponsored by Autocare, Miss Nikhat Khan was crowned this year’s Hibiscus Miss Charity Queen.

Prasad confirms that Khan raised close to $35,000.
