The Pacific needs to be aware of what is going on within its region.

This was stressed by the Prime Minister of Samoa Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi while opening the University of the South Pacific’s Research Week at the Laucala campus today.

The Samoan Prime Minister says that there is a lot of ongoing research in the true blue Pacific continent which the Pacific people themselves are unaware of.

Malielegaoi also highlighted the importance of research in tailoring the needs of its customers.

The Samoan Prime Minister congratulated the University of the South Pacific for the 50 years of successful extension and consultation.

The USP Research Week will conclude this Friday.
