Six organisations that are at the forefront of dealing with issues faced by the LGBITQ community have met with the Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho.
Representatives of the Haus of Khameleon, Rainbow Pride Foundation, Diverse Voices In Action for Equality, Survival Advocacy Network, Strumphet Alliance Network and the Pacific Sexual and Gender Diversity Network met the Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho and the Chief of Intelligence and Investigations ACP Vakacegu Toduadua to discuss issues of concern raised by members of their respective organisations.
While acknowledging the efforts and change in approach made by police officers in addressing the needs of their communities, it was agreed by both parties that the best way to ensure a better working relationship would be through training which is expected to take place soon.
