The Leader of Opposition Ro Teimumu Kepa has announced the passing of SODELPA Parliamentarian Anare Tuidraki Vadei.
Ro Teimumu says Vadei passed away after a short illness.
She highlighted that Vadei who hailed from Sawaieke, Gau in Lomaiviti had a distinguished career of more than three decades as a civil servant in the departments of Commerce, Trade, Industry, Labour, Industrial Relations, and Public Enterprises retiring as Director and Chief Inspector ‑ Trade Measurement and Standards in 2013.
Ro Teimumu says Vadei had also served on various committees and boards including the Board of Visitors for Valelevu Hospital, Real Estate Board and Fiji Public Service Credit Union where he served on the Board of Directors from 2004 to 2009.
She says Vadei joined SODELPA in 2014 and was elected to Parliament in the Elections that year.
In Parliament, he was a Member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Services.
He was also part of the Fiji Delegation to the International Parliamentary Union Meeting in 2016.
