It will be an unforgettable Fathers Day for two former Fiji Corrections Officers as they received their $50,000 insurance cheque from the Commissioner of the Fiji Corrections Service Francis Kean.
Both are living with disabilities.
38-year-old Leone Domovonu of Matacula, Tailevu who had suffered brain trauma says that he will use the money to finish the construction of their house in the village.
Domovonu says he was saddened to leave the job he loved however is confident he has made a difference in the lives of inmates that he had served.
53-year-old Petero Ceinaturaga from Navunisole in Tailevu had his foot amputated after an infection in 2016.
Ceinaturaga says he started going through complications when he was cutting cane in Ba in early 2016.
Ceinaturaga says that he will also use the money to build a new house and start kava business.
