A carpenter has pleaded guilty in the Suva High Court to setting fire to his uncle’s house.
Waisea Gonevou has been charged with one count of willfully and unlawfully setting fire to his uncle's house in Tamavua village on 26th December 2016.
The man said he was drunk and he was angry with his uncle.
Gonevou told the court his uncle is serving time in prison for the defilement of his cousin.
The case has been adjourned to the 20th of this month.
High Court Judge Justice Goundar says he would like to see if the accused maintains his plea till then.
The accused has been granted bail.
