Israel Folau's younger brother John will play in the NRC this season, signing with the Sydney Rays after a lifetime of rugby league.

The 23-year-old  played eight NRL games in three seasons with Parramatta before playing for Manly’s feeder club the Blacktown Workers Sea Eagles in the Intrust Super Premiership this season.

The prospect of a code switch was a thought inspired by his older brother’s success since his own 2013 code switch.

John linked up with the Rays last weekend and coach Chris Whitaker said he was already showing a thirst to learn.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Drua currently lead the NRC points table with 5 points following their win over Melbourne Rising and will play Brisbane City at 3pm this Saturday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
