A farmer of Vunika Labasa died last night after he was hit by a truck along Wainikoro Road in Labasa.

Police say the victim was walking along the road when he was allegedly hit by a twelve-wheeler truck which was heading towards Labasa Town.

The man was rushed to the Labasa Hospital but was pronounced dead.

The driver who is in his 30s is in police custody as investigations continue.
