14 teams have confirmed their participation for this year’s Geotech Drilling Marist Hockey Tournament that will be held this weekend.
Tournament Organizer, Paul Fraser says the tournament is the biggest in its 24th year and it also attracts players from overseas who previously played for local clubs such as the Ventures, Stingers and defending champions Marist.
He says teams from Levuka have not been able to register a team as they do not have enough players to compete in the tournament.
Fraser says 10 men’s and 4 women’s teams will be participating including 3 teams from Lautoka and they are also awaiting confirmation from a team in Ba.
Fraser adds that the match draws will be finalised this Thursday.
Meanwhile, Marist men’s and women’s teams are the defending champions of the Marist Hockey Tournament that will be held from Friday to Saturday at the National Hockey Centre.
