A 28-year-old military officer who is charged with one count of attempted murder has appeared before the Suva High Court today.
Rajiv Krishan Padyachi had allegedly tried to murder his partner on the 15th of this month.
Padyachi is alleged to have attempted to drown his partner while swimming in Colo-i-Suva.
A team of police officers heard the woman’s cry for help and managed to save her and arrested the accused.
The woman sustained injuries during the alleged incident.
Prosecution has objected to his bail application, saying there is strong evidence against him.
The case will be called on the 2nd of next month for bail hearing.
