The body of a 2-year-old girl was found in a creek near Sawani village this morning.

The victim was reported missing by her father last night.

Police say the search conducted proved negative and at first light the search resumed where her body was discovered in a creek.

A post mortem will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death as investigations continue.
