The alleged assault case of former Fiji First parliamentarian and Nausori businessman Balmindar Singh has been reconciled in the Suva Magistrates Court.
It was heard in court that the alleged victim and Balmindar Singh have met and decided to reconcile the matter.
A compensation claim of $1,500 has been paid to the 29-year-old man who was allegedly assaulted by Balmindar Singh on 17th December last year at Desi Haze Night Club in Suva.
In court today, Singh also apologised to the victim and gave assurance that he would not interfere with the victim or his family.
Singh was charged with assault causing actual bodily harm.
It was heard in court that on the 17th December last year, the alleged victim went with the girlfriend to the bar at Desi Haze Night Club to buy cigarettes.
They were then served by the ex-girlfriend of the 29-year-old man.
After being served, the man and the girlfriend went to the smoking area where they were approached by Balmindar Singh.
Singh asked the man for his name and punched him five times
