Fiji Bati player and Pramatta Eels sensation Jarryd Hayne could be looking for a new team in 2019 but it might not be in Australia.

Hayne has been waiting for a new contract with the Eels but with just days before the start of pre‑season training, the two‑time Dally M winner doesn’t have a contract at this point.

The Daily Telegraph reported Hayne could follow former Eels winger Semi Radradra in French rugby union with several club reportedly interested in the 30‑year‑old.

Moving to rugby union could make Hayne eligible for the Flying Fijians team for next years’ rugby union World Cup.

The New Zealand Herald also reported Hayne would be unlikely to make any of the New Zealand Super Rugby squads, with all five to be announced on Wednesday.

The Herald reported there is definitely no place for him at the Blues and the 30‑year‑old is unlikely to find a home at the Chiefs, Hurricanes, Crusaders or Highlanders either.

The Eels insisted on Sunday they still hoped to retain Hayne, but he believed it was unlikely they could fit him in under their salary cap.

Hayne sensationally left the Eels at the end of the 2014 season to join the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL.

Hayne was one of the Eels’ best in the back half of 2018, busting 32 tackles and scoring six tries in the last six games of the season.
