This generation needs to be known as a generation of change, young people need to step up and take charge of the care of our communities, environment and oceans.

Miss Public Service Commission Makarita Daulako says this is her message at the 2018 Vodafone Hidden Paradise Savusavu Carnival that is currently underway at Narain’s park in Savusavu.

The 21-year-old says that she hopes to use the Savusavu Carnival platform to speak about the Blue Town Model which is a model that focuses on the care of our Oceans which is also a source of food and income for people of Savusavu.

Daulako is one of the 5 contestants who are vying for the Miss Savusavu Crown.

All the awards and the crowning of Miss Charity and Miss Savusavu Hidden Paradise will be held on Saturday night.

Miss Savusavu will then go on to represent the Hidden Paradise at the Miss Fiji Pageant next month in Lautoka.
