Three more people can now officiate legal civil marriages.
The Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary for Justice Sharvada Sharma has presented Certificates of Civil Marriage Celebrant to another three people today.
Beato Ratuloco Dulunaqio, Mukesh Lal Pala and Ravnil Ravinesh Prasad can now officiate legal civil marriages anywhere for those who do not choose a religious ceremony.
While presenting their certificates, Sharma congratulated the three recipients wished them well for contributing to the community.
Beato Ratuloco Dulunaqio, who is a the Resort manager for Wananavu Resort says he applied to get a certificate because there has been a growing demand for weddings at places outside the church like resorts, beaches and parks.
Dulunaqio says that he is willing to help anywhere else if his services are needed.
Meanwhile, Mukesh Lal Pala who is a former civil servant and Ravnil Ravinesh Prasad who is a Commissioner of Oath say they are glad to have been given the opportunity to provide this service to the public.
