A new police recruit says the motivation that should keep the recruits going is the fact that all of them were eager to join the Police Force.
20-year-old Ronit Kumar who is from Masimasi, Tavua was one of the 206 new recruits who are part of the Police Basic Recruits Course that started yesterday and will run for four months.
Kumar says from the first day the process has been challenging, but he says he had prayed a lot to be chosen as a recruit and was chosen in his first application.
Kumar says their day begins at 4am and they exercise, eat and go through a typical police recruits training day together.
He says they are divided in seven squads of about 25 recruits and he belongs to the Alpha Squad.
Another recruit, 20-year-old Temalesi Denicagi who is from Labasa says her father is a former police officer and she grew up admiring his profession, discipline and routine and one of her goals in life was to become a police officer.
Denicagi says the drills have been tough and challenging but she is coping well.
Denicagi says she is up for the challenge and prepared to do her best for the country.
