Attorney General, Minister for Economy, Civil Service, Communications and Public Enterprise, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says in a couple of weeks they hope to launch an app where people will be able to register their babies online once they get the birth notification from the hospital.

While speaking after the swearing in ceremony of government ministers, Sayed-Khaiyum says there is also a huge focus on Public-Private Partnership such as the one at the Lautoka and Ba hospitals. 

Sayed-Khaiyum also adds that they have decided on who their new Parliamentary Whip will be as former whip, Ashneel Sudhakar is now the new Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources.

He says people will find out in due course

The new Minister for Health and Medical Services, Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete says during the past six weeks he has been able to find out for himself who his real friends and family are.

Waqainabete has also worked as a surgeon in Fiji. He also worked 3 and half years in New Zealand. He worked as a Surgical Registrar in Palmerston North and as a fellow in Christchurch.

He says that now it is important for him to personally understand that he does not represent FijiFirst but represents Fiji, in the Government of the day.

Waqainabete assured people that they will provide services to everyone, regardless of who they voted for.

He says they need to make sure that they are professionals all the time and make sure their staff are provided the resources and support to face daily challenges.                         

Waqainabete says that even though he has been in the Health Sector, he has to learn new things.

Newly appointed Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Local Government, Housing and Community Development, Premila Kumar says that she will give priority to all the portfolios she has been given as it will impact the lives of people in one way or another.

Kumar says she feels overwhelmed with the work ahead of her and it is for her to settle in and simply get the job done.

She says whatever she will be doing will be based on their manifesto and it is a question of delivering what is stated in the manifesto.

Kumar says that people need to know what each Ministry is doing and what incentives are there for the people.

There are 13 Ministers and eight Assistant Ministers.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama is also the Minister for Foreign Affairs, iTaukei Affairs and Sugar Industry.

Aiyaz Sayed‑Khaiyum has been sworn in as the Attorney General, Minister for Economy, Civil Service, Communications and Public Enterprise.

Inia Seruiratu is the Minister for Defence and National Security.

Premila Kumar is the new Minister for Industry, Trade, Tourism, Local Government, Housing and Community Development.

Parveen Bala is the Minister for Employment, Productivity, Industrial Relations, Youth and Sports.

Dr. Mahendra Reddy has been sworn in as the Minister for Agriculture, Rural and Maritime Development, Environment and Waterways.

Mereseini Vuniwaqa is the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation.

Ashneel Sudhakar is the Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources.

Semi Koroilavesau is the Minister for Fisheries and Osea Naiqamu is the Minister for Forestry.

Jone Usamate has been sworn in as the Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Disaster Management and Meteorological Services.

Rosy Akbar is the new Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts.

Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete is the Minister for Health and Medical Services.

Vijay Nath is the Assistant Minister for Industry, Trade, Tourism, Local Government, Housing and Community Development.

Alvick Maharaj is the Assistant Minister for Employment, Productivity, Industrial Relations, Youth and Sports.

Jale Sigarara is the Assistant Minister for Agriculture, Rural and Maritime Development, Environment and Waterways.

Viam Pillay is the Assistant Minister for Agriculture, Rural and Maritime Development, Environment and Waterways.

Veena Bhatnagar is the Assistant Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation.

Joseph Nitya Nand is the Assistant Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts.

Alexander O’Connor is the Assistant Minister for Health and Medical Services.

George Vegnathan is the Assistant Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Foreign Affairs and Sugar Industry.
