Fiji Airways Mens National 7s team coach Gareth Baber has named his team that will be playing in Dubai from next Friday.
Kalione Nasoko will captain the team while experienced players like former captain, Jerry Tuwai, Mesulame Kunavula, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Waisea Nacuqu, Vatemo Ravouvou , Amenoni Nasilasila and Alasio Naduva are also in the team.
Baber has also included young players like Beniamino Vota, Apenisa Cakaubalavu, Ratu Meli Derelagi, Filimoni Botitu and Filimoni Tuimaba.
Vota, Derelagi, Botitu and Tuimaba will be making their debut in the World Series.
Baber says that he has selected a squad with a general mix and balance of experience along side talented individuals who will be making their first appearances in the HSBC series.
Baber adds that he knows securing points early in the season is important and Dubai comes as the first leg where they want to establish themselves.
Baber says he is looking forward to starting strong, then pushing on this season and ultimately finishing number one in the World.
The team departs the country tomorrow.
The Dubai 7s starts next Friday and Fiji is pooled with France, Kenya and Scotland.
Fiji will face France in their first pool match at 7.06pm next Friday, Fiji will then play Scotland at 10.06pm next Friday.
Fiji’s last pool match will be against Kenya at 4.06am next Saturday.
