Papua New Guinea's police commissioner Gari Baki says there will be no exceptions made in dealing with those responsible for the unrest in Port Moresby earlier this week.

On Tuesday, hundreds of police and corrections officers converged on parliament, before some broke into and vandalised parts of the building, harassing parliament staff and demanding payment for work during last week's APEC summit.

By 6pm that evening a ministerial delegation met and agreed to demands set by the group which included raising their APEC allowances and granting them immunity for their actions.

But police commissioner Gari Baki said their actions cannot go unpunished.

He said a team of investigators from the PNG Defence Force, the Correctional Services and Police will look into the incidents of the day.
