A 30yr-old man from Nakasi has lost his life after he was hit by a bus along Foster Road in Walu Bay yesterday afternoon.
Police say the victim was standing on the side of the road when he was allegedly hit by a bus driven by a 33-year-old man.
They say the victim was rushed to the CWM Hospital where he underwent surgery but passed away yesterday evening.
The driver remains in custody as investigations continue.
Meanwhile, Police are continuing investigations into the accident which the lives of men yesterday morning.
Both men who are from Wairabetia were travelling towards Lautoka when it is alleged that the driver of the vehicle lost control and hit a tree at the junction of Natabua and the Queens Road.
The driver and two other passengers are admitted at the Lautoka Hospital.
Police say initial investigations indicate this to be an alcohol related accident as the surviving victims were allegedly intoxicated when brought to the hospital, however this is subject to investigations.
The road death toll currently stands at 61 compared to 59 for the same period last year.
