78 new Corrections Service recruits have told by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama that they will only be able to serve inmates properly if they have a good heart and follow the right processes set out in the institution.

Speaking to recruits in the iTaukei language at the pass out parade today, Bainimarama said that people should be assured that all recruitments in institutions that uphold the law are done on merit and that these institutions are independent.

He said when recruitments are done on merit, these institutions will have the right people who will serve people in the right way.

Bainimarama also told the new recruits that they should make the right decisions because every decision they make will affect their family and this country.

He also said that the government was committed to giving the Fiji Corrections Service the necessary resources to improve their services.
