Police are seeking assistance in identifying a Fijian man of Indian descent who was brought in for a case of damaging property but later passed away at the Valelevu Health Center.

Police say the victim was arrested by a citizen after allegedly damaging his vehicle which was parked along Narere Stage 1 yesterday.

They say the victim was allegedly heavily intoxicated at the time of the arrest and was brought to the Nasinu Police Station.

Police say that after a while the victim complained of being ill where he was rushed to the Makoi Health Center for treatment.

He was then transferred to the Valelevu Hospital where he passed away last night.

According to Police, the victim was wearing only a pair of 3/4 shorts at the time of the arrest and had no form of identification.

Police say he is believed to be between 40 to 50 years old, is of fair complexion and heavy built and has a distinct tattoo of the word "SINGH" on his neck.
