Police Chief of Operations ACP Maretino Qiolevu has given assurance that police will continue to do their job.

This is in light of the past experiences of people taking advantage of the bad weather conditions.

Qiolevu says police are monitoring the situation very closely as it has been seen in the past that opportunists usually make use of the current weather conditions to commit crimes.

Meanwhile he has also confirmed that resources have been doubled by police to help assist the people during this time.

He adds that all Police Command Centres have been activated with about 403 police officers on standby.

Qiolevu says Police have been constantly visiting people that are situated in flood prone areas and are advising them to move to higher grounds if they are in any sort of danger.
