It is important as iTaukei leaders to ask ourselves about what is their role to the government.

This was stressed by the Assistant Minister for iTaukei Affairs Selai Adimaitoga while officiating at the Ra Provincial Council this morning.

Adimaitoga told the chiefs at the meeting that they must know what their role is to their people and the country as a whole.

The Assistant Minister highlighted that questions regarding their roles and duties needed to be asked as there have been major issues regarding the iTaukei people.

She says this is one reason the government is visiting villagers and schools to see first-hand where the problem is coming from.

The Ra Provincial Council Meeting is currently underway in Nukuloa, Ra.
