Fiji will be trying to defend their title in Vancouver this weekend in front of a massive crowd as ticket sales for the two day tournament is approaching 70,000.
Rugby Canada says that Sunday is nearing a sellout, with over 90 per cent of tickets sold, while more inventory is currently available for Monday.
The tournament drew 72,000 fans in 2016, 76,000 in 2017, and 78,000 last year and is in the final year of its four‑year hosting cycle that was granted to Rugby Canada in 2016, though it seems likely that the agreement will be extended.
A Rugby Canada media conference is scheduled for today, where it is expected that details of a new agreement will be revealed.
Fiji will play Kenya in their first pool match of the Vancouver 7s at 6.39am Sunday, they will then take on Canada at 10.08am Sunday and face Samoa in their last pool game at 2.02pm Sunday.
The Cup quarterfinals will start at 6.08am next Monday, Cup semifinals start at 10.08am next Monday and the Cup final will kick off at 1.19pm next Monday.
