The 54-year-old driver who allegedly caused the death of a 26-year-old woman yesterday remains in custody.
Police say that the woman’s post mortem will be conducted later today and charges will be laid once the post mortem is completed.
The road death toll now stands at 16 compared to 11 for the same period last year.
The woman was a passenger in a vehicle that was driven by the suspect who is a Radio announcer.
It is alleged that the driver lost control of the vehicle causing it to veer off the road at Gardner Place.
The driver and the victim were rescued from the vehicle which was partially submerged in water.
Police say that the victim was rushed to the CWM Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
