Muslims all over the country will today await the sighting of the new moon for the month of fasting, Ramadhan.

The Fiji Muslim League says if the new moon is sighted today then fasting will begin from tomorrow.

But it says if the new moon isn’t sighted today, then fasting will begin from Wednesday.

During the month of Ramadhan, Muslims refrain from eating and drinking from dawn to dusk.

This is done every year after which they mark the festival of Eid.
