51 percent of the people that called Lifeline Fiji’s counselling helpline last year were men.

Lifeline Fiji Officer in Charge, Jeremaia Merekula says they feel fortunate that men call Lifeline Fiji for help.

He says some of the common issues faced by men who call their counseling helpline are relationship problems, depression, and financial instability.

Lifeline Fiji received a total of 2,000 genuine calls last year.

He says 72 percent of callers in 2017 were men while 82 percent callers in 2016 were men.

Merekula adds that they also receive calls from people with disabilities and senior citizens who tend to be suicidal because of loneliness.

You can call Lifeline Fiji on the toll-free number 132454 if you need help.
