A total of 149 students got part-time jobs with 32 employers during the school holidays under the Student Employment Exposure Programme.
While speaking at the closing of the programme, Employment Minister Parveen Bala says the main objective of the School Employment Program is to spearhead the smooth transition of students from school into the world of work, decent jobs and employment growth.
He told the students present that they have a huge responsibility ahead which is shaping the future of work including inclusive and sustainable development.
Bala acknowledged the 32 host employers for employing the 149 students adding their support has enabled the students to learn employability skills which will help them to make informed decisions on their career choices.
He also acknowledged the efforts made by both the Ministry of Education and his Ministry, in collaboration with all key stakeholders in making it a reality for the selected students to experience the work‑life.
