Police Chief of Operations ACP Maretino Qiolevu says their presence outside the Fiji Trades Union Congress Headquarters on Monday in Suva was part of normal operations.
ACP Qiolevu says they are providing visibility throughout several areas in Suva.
The Fiji Trades Union Congress claimed on Monday police were monitoring their building with some police vehicles parked opposite the area.
FTUC says former project workers for the Water Authority of Fiji were at the union office on Monday seeking help in filling forms and giving details on their family needs.
Last week, Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho had assured people that police will ensure the safety of everyone and will not allow unscrupulous elements to disrupt the water supply or operations of Water Authority of Fiji by union activists.
He had also said their officers have been on high alert to ensure that the situation does not get out of hand.
Qiliho had said there were concerns about possible water disruptions by activists.
This is after former project workers of the Water Authority of Fiji illegally gathered at depots in parts of country.
