The fight between Sebastian “Sniper” Singh and Siliveni “Hands of Stone” Nawai will continue to go ahead today but it will no longer be a fight for the Middleweight title of Fiji.

They will face off at Prince Charles Park in the Battle of the West Boxing Rumble.

Promoter, Freddy Chand says the bout will now only be accommodated as a contest and not a title fight after Sebastian Singh did not meet the required weight to defend his title.

Chand says Singh is 1.5 kilograms heavier.

The contract weight for the fight was 72 kilograms.

The decision to continue to hold fight only as a contest was made after the weigh-in yesterday.

Singh is from Uptown Boxing Club in Suva and Nawai is from Mulomulo Boxing Club in Nadi.

Chand says all the other fights will also go ahead as planned.

Tomu Gaunavou and Abhay Chand also face off in the Super Middleweight title fight.

In the main supporting bout, James Singh will fight Petero Qica.

The gates open at 3pm while the exhibition fights will start at 5pm.
